A tribal Bakhtiar rug with lots of interesting details and good colours. Full of energy and originality. Scattered old restorations.
The Bakhtiar are a Persian tribal sub group of the Luri people, who inhabit the mountains of western Iran and were traditionally nomadic pastoralists. Their rugs are known for their good, saturated dyes, and the addition of numerous minor motifs around the main design elements.
